All company laptops ship with a base OS image and endpoint management pre-installed. Do not wipe or reimage your machine without IT approval.
First boot
- Power on and follow the OS setup wizard. Use your company email when prompted.
- IT’s MDM profile will install automatically within a few minutes of connecting to Wi-Fi. Do not skip or dismiss any MDM prompts.
- Check your email for a message from IT confirming enrollment. If it doesn’t arrive within 30 minutes, file a ticket.
Required software
IT pushes the following automatically via MDM:
- Password manager
- Endpoint security agent
- VPN client (see VPN setup)
- SSO agent
You do not need to install these manually. If any are missing after 24 hours, contact IT.

Encryption
Full-disk encryption is required on all company devices. MDM enforces this automatically. Verify it’s enabled:
- macOS — System Settings → Privacy & Security → FileVault
- Windows — Settings → Privacy & Security → Device encryption
If encryption is off, IT can enable it remotely. File a ticket.
Issues
If your machine has hardware problems or is missing software, contact the IT help desk. Do not try to resolve hardware issues yourself — it voids the warranty. Last modified on June 8, 2026
